குறள் 1131-1140 நாணுத்துறவுரைத்தல்

குறள் 1131:.

காமம் உழந்து வருந்தினார்க்கு ஏமம் 
மடலல்லது இல்லை வலி.

Tamil meaning

காதலால் துன்புறும் காளையொருவனுக்குப் பாதுகாப்பு முறையாக மடலூர்தலைத் தவிர, வலிமையான துணைவேறு எதுவுமில்லை. 

English meaning

To those who after enjoyment of sexual pleasure suffer (for want of more), there is no help so efficient as the palmyra horse. 

குறள் 1132:.

நோனா உடம்பும் உயிரும் மடலேறும் 
நாணினை நீக்கி நிறுத்து.

Tamil meaning

எனது உயிரும், உடலும் காதலியின் பிரிவைத் தாங்க முடியாமல் தவிப்பதால், நாணத்தைப் புறந்தள்ளிவிட்டு மடலூர்வதற்குத் துணிந்து விட்டேன். 

English meaning

Having got rid of shame, the suffering body and soul save themselves on the palmyra horse. 

குறள் 1133:.

நாணொடு நல்லாண்மை பண்டுடையேன் இன்றுடையேன் 
காமுற்றார் ஏறும் மடல்.

Tamil meaning

நல்ல ஆண்மையும், நாண உணர்வையும் முன்பு கொண்டிருந்த நான், இன்று அவற்றை மறந்து, காதலுக்காக மடலூர்வதை மேற்கொண்டுள்ளேன். 

English meaning

Modesty and manliness were once my own; now, my own is the palmyra horse that is ridden by the lustful. 

குறள் 1134:.

காமக் கடும்புனல் உய்க்கும் நாணொடு 
நல்லாண்மை என்னும் புணை.

Tamil meaning

காதல் பெருவெள்ளமானது நாணம், நல்ல ஆண்மை எனப்படும் தோணிகளை அடித்துக்கொண்டு போய்விடும் வலிமை வாய்ந்தது.

English meaning

The raft of modesty and manliness, is, alas, carried-off by the strong current of lust. 

குறள் 1135:.

தொடலைக் குறுந்தொடி தந்தாள் மடலொடு 
மாலை உழக்கும் துயர்.

Tamil meaning

மேகலையையும் மெல்லிய வளையலையும் அணிந்த மங்கை மாலை மலரும் நோயான காதலையும், மடலூர்தல் எனும் வேலையையும் எனக்குத் தந்து விட்டாள். 

English meaning

She with the small garland-like bracelets has given me the palmyra horse and the sorrow that is endured at night. 

குறள் 1136:.

மடலூர்தல் யாமத்தும் உள்ளுவேன் மன்ற 
படல்ஒல்லா பேதைக்கென் கண்.

Tamil meaning

காதலிக்காக என் கண்கள் உறங்காமல் தவிக்கின்றன, எனவே மடலூர்தலைப் பற்றி நள்ளிரவிலும் நான் உறுதியாக எண்ணிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறேன். 

English meaning

Mine eyes will not close in sleep on your mistress's account; even at midnight will I think of mounting the palmyra horse. 

குறள் 1137:.

கடலன்ன காமம் உழந்தும் மடலேறாப் 
பெண்ணின் பெருந்தக்க தில்.

Tamil meaning

கொந்தளிக்கும் கடலாகக் காதல் நோய் துன்புறுத்தினாலும்கூடப் பொறுத்துக்கொண்டு, மடலேறாமல் இருக்கும் பெண்ணின் பெருமைக்கு நிகரில்லை.

English meaning

There is nothing so noble as the womanly nature that would not ride the palmyra horse, though plunged a sea of lust. 

குறள் 1138:.

நிறையரியர் மன்அளியர் என்னாது காமம் 
மறையிறந்து மன்று படும்.

Tamil meaning

பாவம் இவர், மனத்தில் உள்ளதை ஒளிக்கத் தெரியாதவர்; பரிதாபத்திற்குரியவர்; என்றெல்லாம் பார்க்காமல், ஊர் அறிய வெளிப்பட்டு விடக்கூடியது காதல்.

English meaning

Even the Lust (of women) transgresses its secrecy and appears in public, forgetting that they are too chaste and liberal (to be overcome by it). 

குறள் 1139:.

அறிகிலார் எல்லாரும் என்றேஎன் காமம் 
மறுகின் மறுகும் மருண்டு.

Tamil meaning

என்னைத் தவிர யாரும் அறியவில்லை என்பதற்காக என் காதல் தெருவில் பரவி மயங்கித் திரிகின்றது போலும்!

English meaning

My lust, feeling that it is not known by all, reels confused in the streets (of this town). 

குறள் 1140:.

யாம்கண்ணின் காண நகுப அறிவில்லார் 
யாம்பட்ட தாம்படா ஆறு.

Tamil meaning

காதல் நோயினால் வாடுவோரின் துன்பத்தை அனுபவித்தறியாதவர்கள்தான், அந்த நோயினால் வருந்துவோரைப் பார்த்து நகைப்பார்கள். 

English meaning

Even strangers laugh (at us) so as to be seen by us, for they have not suffered.
